Cell phones vs Telephones

Both cell phones and telephones have changed our lives for good, in order to make our communication easier.Telephones since the very beginning came to improve and start our communication world, on the other hand cell phones are the touch of technology that communication needed for a bigger impact.

Cell phones and telephones make possible that people nowadays can communicate to every corner of the world. Most of the people have either a cell phone or a telephone.

The differences between the telephone and the cell phone is that on telephones you can talk without charging the battery and you do not have to worry too much about the time.Cell phones on the other hand helps you more , because you can use it whenever and wherever you want it , also you can send text messages, and nowadays even you can check your e-mail; and not just that you can take pictures, record videos, listen to music , and play videogames. From my point of view no matter what both telephone and cell phones are very useful and have become indispensable for people. Although cell phones can do much more than telephones, I don’t doubt that in a near future telephones will have a higher technology.

"A REAL NIGHTMARE !"

This is a story that my friend Alba and me did for the class of Teacher Ana Maria. hope you like it....

"No! it wasn't a dream! I'm sure there was something at the window!" I told my mother as she tried to comfort me in her arms. It wasn't very long ago that we had moved into our new house in Colorado, during that time nothing that nerve wrecking had ever happened to me. My room was just like any other room in the house never in my mind did I think that my room was going to become one of the most memorable rooms in my entire house.
It was about 11:30 p.m. when I was getting ready to go bed, like any other night I put on my pajamas, bushed my teeth and tucked in to my bed, which was right next to the only window in my room. Everything was normal until I turned off the lights from my nightstand. I laid there for about a minute with my eyes closed but still conscious of what was happening. Suddenly a slightly noise make me open my eyes I turned slightly toward the window since that’s where the small noise was coming from. I didn’t pay much attention to it since I thought it was our dog that might have been loose. But as I listened carefully it sounded like footsteps walking over dry leafs and grass and they seemed to be getting closer every time. That's when I started to get scared. Just when I was about to get up and calmly tell my parents , I heard a loud "thump!" on the window followed by the most horrifying and slow screeching noise. At that time I turned again slightly toward the window and saw a big figure on the window. At that moment I couldn't take it anymore and I screamed as loud as my lungs let me "HELP!" in less than five seconds my mother and my father came running through the door, at that time the only words that came out of my mouth were "there's someone at the window" immediately my father went outside to see if anyone was in our back yard and also to check behind the fence that surrounded our house. While my mother got me in her arms and tried to get me to explain what had happened. I was shaking and very pale looking; my mother took me to the kitchen to give me a glass of water to try to get me to stop shaking and to see if I got my color back. A few minutes later, just as I was finishing the glass of water mom had given me; my dad stepped in and said he had checked everywhere and that there was nothing there. I asked him if maybe it could have been our dog and he answered, "I too thought it was the dog, but I just checked and Wolf is still tied up in the garage there's no possible way it was him maybe it was some other animal". He tried to explain although as soon as he said that every hair in my body stood up because I knew the figure I saw wasn't an animal. My parents were convinced it was all in my imagination or that maybe it was all just a nightmare I had. They tried to convince me that I was just dreaming but I am more than sure that what happened that night was real. That night I slept with my parents and the next day my dad rearranged the room and put up a light outside the house so no animals would come near. Many years have passed since that incident but I still remember it like if it were yesterday. Even though nothing like that ever happened again in that house I still know there was something out there just like there was something in me that told me that what ever was out there was not from this world or was it?.

CORRECTIONS FROM MY OLD POST

It´s true that nowadays talevision is becoming more a need than a luxury for people.
In my case television was almost everything for me, because you can always find something intersting to watch in it: like movies, sports, news, etc...
Also, there are things that goes around television, for instance my friends and I usually talk about tv programs.
I have to say that television right now "doesn´t exist for me anymore" because I don´t have enough time to watch it, due to school and that thanks to God, I finally find a job hahaha, so now I have the experience of living without tv. I have to tell you that at the very begining it was kind of hard to be without it, because whether you like it or not you miss your favorite programs, tv series and so on. But now I realized that television is not everything, that there is a whole world outside to explore. So now whenever I have some free time I try to do something fun, look for new hobbies, places, friends instead of being trapped in my little tv world.

THAT MAY BE THE SEASON

I'm not even mad the Bolts lost on sunday to the Stillers. I'm upset, sure, because they could have won the game. But let's be honest, to have expected the Chargers to roll into the 'Burgh, a city they've never won in during the regular season, and beat the Stillers in a snowstorm, would have been courting complete fantasy. As a fan that's a game you put in the probable loss column and then root like heck for a surprise victory. The Bolts had a chance to deliver on that surprise but didn't get the job done, mostly due to a few great plays by Troy Polamalu and a few extremely dicey plays by Phil Rivers.

What really got me angry is that yesterday the Broncs' win in Atlanta. Are you kidding me? You can't beat Denvers team on its fifth string running back on your home turf? Unacceptable.

There are many reasons why the Bolts likely aren't making the playoffs this season, but two of the biggest reasons may end up being the failures of Cleveland and Atlanta to win home games against the Broncos.

GOING TO THE BEACH WITH MY FRIENDS

Our last day on the beach was very nice. We weren't in a hurry and we really enjoyed ourselves. We arrived on the beach at about 10 am to find the tide pretty high still. So we set up our chairs just outside the tide's reach. Of course by the middle of the afternoon, the tide had gone out quite a bit so now our chairs were pretty far from the water's edge.
At one point, Felix came to us and told us he had to pee. Instead of go and look for a bathroom, we told him to just go out and pee in the ocean.
In a few moments, we said "Hey, check out Felix". He had walked just to the edge of the water, ankle deep, and dropped his pants. There he stood, using the ocean as his personal urinal, and us without a camera hahaha what a day we had lots of fun!!!!

EAGLES

As we all know already many animals are now in danger of becoming extinct .

One animal that is in danger of becoming extinct, just to name one is the Eagle.

From my point of view the better way to protect Eagles is by raising substantial funds for a project to protect their environment and avoid bothering them.

On the other hand a law must be created, in order to decrease the illegal trafficking and the damage of their environment. with though laws, authorities and community will be forced to work together in order to help endered species.

Well this is my opinion of how we can protect Eagles, of course we should protect all kind of animals, but we have to take that big step so we can ensure a better live for our kids in the near future.

HALLOWEEN

The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.

During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically consisting of animal heads and skins, and attempted to tell each other's fortunes. When the celebration was over, they re-lit their hearth fires, which they had extinguished earlier that evening, from the sacred bonfire to help protect them during the coming winter.
By the 800s, the influence of Christianity had spread into Celtic lands. In the seventh century, Pope Boniface IV designated November 1 All Saints' Day, a time to honor saints and martyrs. It is widely believed today that the pope was attempting to replace the Celtic festival of the dead with a related, but church-sanctioned holiday. The celebration was also called All-hallows or All-hallowmas (from Middle English Alholowmesse meaning All Saints' Day) and the night before it, the night of Samhain, began to be called All-hallows Eve and, eventually, Halloween. Even later, in A.D. 1000, the church would make November 2 All Souls' Day, a day to honor the dead. It was celebrated similarly to Samhain, with big bonfires, parades, and dressing up in costumes as saints, angels, and devils. Together, the three celebrations, the eve of All Saints', All Saints', and All Souls', were called Hallowmas.

DANCE ARTS

The art of dance is one of the most beautiful arts that there are in all over the world, dance can be defined as a sequence of rhythmic steps or movements performed to music, for pleasure or as a form of social interaction.
Here we have some of the kinds of dance that exist.

Folk dance refers to dances developed by groups or communities, as opposed to being made up by a choreographer.

Latin dance is a fast-paced, often sensual, partner dance characterized by sexy hip movements.

Modern dance is a dance style that rejects many of the strict rules of classical ballet, focusing instead on the expression of inner feelings.

Swing dance is a lively dance style in which couples swing, spin and jump together.

Ballet Lithe, flexible, graceful, elegant, poised---if you’re not all of those then it’s time to say farewell to your tutu. In ballet, each movement is an expression of a specific emotion so it must be executed precisely and without flaw.

WRITTING A BOOK REPORT

The title of the story is Eleven by Sandra Cisneros.

The main characters are: Rachel, an eleven year old girl. Mrs. Price, her teacher. Other children in Rachel`s class, including Sylvia Saldivar and Phyllis Lopez.

The character that I found most intersting was Rachel, because she Knew that the teacher was wrong, but she couldn`t assert herself. she thought that it was going to be hard to change the teachers mind so she decided to respect the teachers decision, although Mrs. Price was wrong.

Te central problem of the story begings when, on Rachel`s eleven birthday, Mrs. Price asks the class who owns an ugly, old sweater. When Sylvia says it belongs to Rachel, Mrs Price believes Sylvia and insists that Rachel put it on. Rachel becomes embarrassed and begings to cry. After a while, Phyllis remembers that it`s really her sweater. Rachel returns the sweater to Phyllis, but Mrs. Price doesn`t acknowledge her mistake or apologize to Rachel, whose birthday has been ruined by the incident.

Well, I enjoy the story because that could happen to anyone, specially to those who are working under a person in a position of authority, so I recommend this book because it show you a very important lesson.

A LESSON IN CARING

1.- IN WHAT WAY DO YOU THINK THE AUTHOR AND HIS DAUGHTER BENEFITED FROM THE VISITS?
--- In my opinion the author and his daughter benefited from the visits, because right now they can see poverty from a different angle and that permits them to interact with people who can make them better persons in many ways with good feelings and I also think that people who do this kind of jobs, their lives change for a better and sooner or later they are rewarded.

2.- WHAT DO YOU THINK MOTIVATED THE AUTHOR TO BEGIN DOING VOLUNTEER WORK?
--- From my point of view the author got motivated, because he saw that his daughter was interested in helping needly people and that makes her daughter feel happy and excited.

3.- WOULD YOU CONSIDER THE AUTHOR A HERO? WHY OR WHY NOT?
--- Definitely I consider the author a hero, bacause to me a hero is a pearson who has the courage to be kind to people at any situation, and the author had the opportunity to either stay at home or make the difference by giving others unforgettable moments.

MICHAEL JORDAN

Michael Jordan was a phenomenal athlete with a unique combination of grace, power, artistry and improvisational ability, Michael Jordan has single-handedly redefined the NBA superstar.

A summary of Jordan's basketball career inevitably fails to do it justice. The 6-6 Brooklyn native attended high school in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he was cut from the basketball team as a sophomore. He spent his college career at North Carolina, playing for an NCAA Championship team as a freshman and hitting the game-winning shot in the title game. He was named College Player of the Year by The Sporting News in both 1983 and 1984 and won the Naismith and Wooden Awards in 1984. After his junior year he was chosen with the third overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls.

More than just a scoring machine, Jordan also showed that he was a leader and a winner by guiding Chicago to a trio of NBA Championships. Prior to his retirement he had averaged below 30 points per game in the postseason only once (29.3 ppg in his rookie year). In the 1985-86 postseason he poured in an astounding 43.7 points per contest. He left basketball temporarily in 1993 as a three-time Finals MVP, and he owned a career playoff average of 34.7 points per game, the best in NBA history. He also had two Olympic gold medals to show for his participation on Team USA in 1984 and 1992.

Despite not playing for three seasons from 1998-99 through 2000-01, Jordan was still probably the most recognizable athlete in the world during that time.

Some oh his career highlights are:

Five-time NBA Most Valuable Player (1987-88, 1990-91, 1991-92, 1995-96, 1997-98)Ten-time All-NBA First Team selection (1986-87 to 1992-93, 1995-96 to 1997-98)Selected in 1996 as one of the "50 Greatest Players in NBA History"A member of six Chicago Bulls NBA championship teams (1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1995-96, 1996-97 and 1997-98)Six-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Participated in 13 NBA All-Star Games (1985, 1987-1993, 1996-98, 2002-03), starting 13 times, and missed another due to injury Named the MVP of the 1988, 1996 and 1998 NBA All-Star Games.

WHY LOOK LIKE EVERYONE ELSE?

Everybody has a different way to dress up, but most of the people wear usual or either casual clothes so now everytime you get dress think about it and try to impress others by looking different but feeling comfortable at the same time of course.
Make your own style, the important thing here is that you don´t have to follow any trend in order to feel you´re in or you´re like everybody else, just be yourself and feel comfortable that´s all that matters.
There is no law that tells you what to wear or not so wearing comfortable clothes is not a crime, just feel free to use whatever you like to wear and at the same time it´s going to make you look original so now ask to yourself why look like everyone else?.

MY BEST FRIEND

My best friend, Orbelin, and I have many common ideas. We both like to play soccer and we also like to go party very often specially on weekends. Whenever I´ve a problem at any situation he always stands by my side cheering me up.
In my opinion friends are like brothers and sisters.
The differences between Orbelin and me aren´t that significant. Right now he is studying hard because he wants to become a Doctor, myself in a near future I would like to be an English teacher, because I enjoy working with children. Orbelin is a very organized person and I´m a little bit disorganized. He´s talkative, but I´m very quiet and shy.
Between our differences we still have a lot of in common, we both like to play video games we can play all day long, we also like to travel and visit new places, we are planning this december to visit Guanajuato.
Although our differences, we have to much in common so that makes our friendship easier. Every time we see each other we just try to have fun and enjoy our lives.

HOW TO REDUCE STRESS

We all have stress sometimes. For some people, it happens before having to speak in public or for others it might be before a first date, but believe me everybody has suffer of stress once. What causes stress for you may not be stressful for someone else.
Sometimes stress is helpful it can encourage you to meet a deadline or get things done. But long-term stress can increase the risk of diseases like depression, heart disease and a variety of other problems.

I think that the best way to deal with stress is to take a bath, play soft music, and lay down in bed. Read a book and clear your mind of all the stress and rush of the day.
Do the activities or hobbies that relax you (fishing, singing, painting, taking photographs), whatever it is that keeps your mind off the things that normally stress you out, or things that you just need a break from every now and then.

Well these are some ways that you can use to reduse stress. just think positive jajaja

SOCCER

Hello every body!

Today I'm going to talk about my favorite sport.
My favorite sport is soccer, since I'm 10 years old I'm playing it.
My best years as a soccer player was when I was playing at the High School team, because I learned many things like how to play as a team and how to play more technically.
I also scored many goals palying as a midfilder which is rarely, because midfilders don't have that much opportunities to score than forwords.
I was the capitan of the team during my sophmore and junior years .
my favorite team is Barcelona because is one of the best clubes in the world and it has 2 mexicans playing there one of them is Rafa Marquez and the otherone is Giovanni Dos Santos.

jokes

Everybody on earth dies and goes to heaven
Everybody on earth dies and goes to heaven.God comes and says, "I want the men to make two lines. One line for the men that dominated their women on earth and the other line for the men that were dominated by their women. Also, I want all the women to go with St. Peter."With that said and done, the next time God looked, the women are gone and there are two lines. The line of the men that were dominated by their women was 100 miles long, and in the line of men that dominated their women, there was only one man.God got mad and said, "You men should be ashamed of yourselves. I created you in my image and you were all whipped by your mates. Look at the only one of my sons that stood up and made me proud. Learn from him! Tell them my son, how did you manage to be the only one in this line?"And the man replied, "I don't know, my wife told me to stand here."

The Curse
An old man goes to the Wizard to ask him if he can remove a curse he has been living with for the last 40 years. The Wizard says, "Maybe, but you will have to tell me the exact words that were used to put the curse on you."The old man says without hesitation - "I now pronounce you man and wife."

JOKES

Here I am back in the game once again. I was reading some funny jokes and I want to share some of them with you because in my opinion jokes are also interesting to learn a language. Many of them are the same in other languages but others are specially British or American, since they play with words, meanings and similar sounds. Read these jokes and have fun!

It was the first day of school in Marietta, Georgia, and a new student named Suzuki, the son of a Japanese businessman, entered the fourth grade. The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American history. Who said 'Give me Liberty, or give me Death?'"She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Suzuki, who had his hand up. "Patrick Henry, 1775," he said."Very good! Who said 'Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth'"? Again, no response except from Suzuki. "Abraham Lincoln, 1863.", said Suzuki. The teacher snapped at the class, "Class, you should be ashamed. Suzuki, who is new to our country, knows more about its history than you do." He heard a loud whisper: "Fuck the Japs.""Who said that?" she demanded. Suzuki put his hand up. "Lee Iacocca, 1982." At that point, a student in the back said, "I'm gonna puke."The teacher glares and asks "All right! Now, who said that?"Again, Suzuki says, "George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister,1991."Now furious, another student yells, "Oh yeah? S... this!" Suzuki jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher: "Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!"

Wazup!!!!!

well...this is going to sound very odd, but i just want to congratulate you for the great idea that popped into your head jejeje. Sincerely I like more this kind of works than the SAC because is more useful, practical and is not that tedious.
From my bird's eye view this will help us to improve our reading and writting skills, of course it depends in the effort we put in it and at the end we'll see the rewarding results.
